General Information

On November 6th & 7th, TMBA's Annual Educational Seminar & Marketplace will bring together hundreds of real estate finance professionals to listen to dynamic speakers from the industry. Register today to participate in this year's Educational Seminar which will be unlike any prior year, with more exciting opportunities than ever to display your Company to Texas Mortgage Bankers.

The MED Talk theme is breaking the mold for the typical seminar agenda, eliminating the long keynote speeches from singular speakers in favor of a more contemporary format using a TED Talk inspired structure. We are creating additional sessions aimed at increasing attendance from a more diverse group of attendees, including technology, operational, and compliance decision-makers.

NOTE: Photo ID required to pick up your badge.

BE SURE TO CAST YOUR VOTE BY NOVEMBER 3rd (early voting deadline) for the November 7th election date to avoid missing out on this year's Educational Seminar and Marketplace.

MED Talks:
Hear from four dynamic speakers as they discuss their thoughts on managing a well-run business.   The TED-style speakers will each have 10 minutes to entertain and inform you on how to identify issues with your business, determine the best strategies to address these issues, successfully implement these strategies and finally determine the effectiveness and efficiency of your solutions.

Industry SWOT:
This highly interactive session led by FNMA’s Sr. Relationship Director, Jon Hodge, will encourage participants to discuss the current state of the mortgage industry and brainstorm ideas for the long-term sustainability of our business.  Come prepared to get creative with your fellow mortgage professionals!

Operational/Compliance – Session 1
This interactive panel will focus on best practices for determining work flow and processes, determining performance metrics and high-level operations and compliance related topics.  We will be focusing on Q&A from the audience so come with lots of questions to ask this group of seasoned experts!  There will be a follow up Q&A with the panelists in the exhibitor hall following the session.

Operational/Compliance – Session 2
This interactive session will focus on specific operational issues such a developing training programs, implementing changes to a process and incorporating technology into your process.  There will be a follow up Q&A with panelists in the exhibitor hall following the sessions.

Whose Customers Are They Anyway? Challenges Arising when Loan Originators Join or Leave a Lender in a Post-“Guaranteed-Rate-Case” World.

This is a bootcamp. Arrive November 6th at 1:00 pm and be ready to identify and address issues arising when production personnel join or leave your company with customer information, loans, or other proprietary data.

Troy Garris will lead attendees through the various risks and protections applicable under Federal and state law in these scenarios, including how to protect the company when soliciting, onboarding and offboarding loan originators. Applicable laws discussed will include the Texas Uniform Trade Secrets Act, and the Federal Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2016.  Go home with practical ideas ready to put them into effect.

You MUST register seperately for this event.

LOS Roundtable
