About FML
The Future Mortgage Leader’s (FML) is comprised of individuals who are interested in getting involved to make a difference in the mortgage banking industry, both locally and nationally. FML members aspire to advance by establishing new contacts in our industry, and to help attract other talented individuals who are interested in doing the same.

FML encourages its members to become involved in TMBA activities; however, it is not necessary to be a member of TMBA to discuss common problems confronting the mortgage industry, or to build new relationships with peers in the real estate finance profession. The FML committee encourages the growth of mortgage bankers as future leaders in the association and mortgage lending industry. As an example of what you can achieve, seven former FML members currently serve on the Board of Directors for TMBA and the first female president of TMBA was an active FML member.

By sponsoring the Future Mortgage Leaders and supporting its activities, the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association expects to attract new members by providing forums in which mortgage bankers are able to interact with other professionals and current leaders in a premiere statewide trade association.

James M. Wooten Scholarship
This scholarship was developed in 1993 and has since become the primary focus for the Future Mortgage Leaders. Now called the Future Mortgage Leaders/James M. Wooten Scholarship, the program was designed focused on developing new leaders who will guide our organization and our industry in the years to come. FML sends up to three deserving individuals to the national MBA’s Future Leaders Program. This prestigious program has delivered a top curriculum of leadership and business management to the real estate finance industry’s most promising professionals - identifying and cultivating the next generation of leaders for the real estate finance industry!
