Is your Child  Unprepared For the Future?

PBS News Hour Extra with Jim Lehere aired a special report for students entitled Young People Taking on More Debt”.  The feature story pointed out that over one third of young adults in America were credit card owners but very few had ever received financial education upon exiting high school. When entering college the campuses are overtaken by credit card companies eager to extend credit to college students.  However, upon graduating from college and entering the real world young adults find themselves weighed down by student loans and credit card debt.

Texas Mortgage Bankers Association's Home Economics Network will provide a gateway to information for educators, students, and parents on establishing good credit and creating a budget and savings plan in preparation for homeownership.
